Juan Ramon Vargas-Varo
Ramon is affectionately referred to by us and his peers in Restrepo as Juan. He has been largely successful in creating his own line of faux leather purses, VARO and he has over 15 years of experience. Ramon learned leather crafting and confection work with the best of the best, working for important and traditional brands such as Trianon. Working at such places almost cost him a finger, which put him on temporary disability for about five months. During this time he experimented with the cutting and confection of his first handbag. Ramon started commercializing the end product and decided to resign at the manufacturing company he worked at to start his own business. Today his workshop employs over 20 people and directs a satellite production of another 10 people. His brand, Varo Cueroshas expanded in the last seven years and Ramon has been acknowledged by brands such as Azaleia, Spring Step, and Fallabella. Ramon's ultimate goal is to be able to reach the international markets with his own brand.
